Taste Washington: Seattle to Spokane
I attended Taste Washington in Seattle and Spokane this year and both experiences were fantastic. While the two events are totally different, they somehow accomplish a similar goal. Wineries get to introduce their newest vintages to people across the state looking to find their new favorite, and wine lovers get to enjoy a variety of wines, and even a few nibbles provided by some fantastic restaurants.
I enjoyed my time at both events but have to admit that even though Qwest field is a bit of an austere venue, I think I liked it better for this type of event. There is a lot more space than people and I didn’t feel so claustrophobic. In Spokane, the event is held at the Davenport hotel which, while classic in its beauty and architecture, leaves a little to be desired as the pouring tables are set up between three different rooms. One of the rooms was like a sauna, (even my shins were sweating) and with so many people milling about, I often felt a little crowded.

With that being said, if you are just learning about wine or you are an avid connoisseur this is the event to be at. With two dates and locations it’s easy to get to, and what an experience! From Malbec and Merlot to Semillon and Sangiovese, Washington is becoming one of the top destinations for your wine tour, so why not do it here in one easy stop!
