“The Secret of Santa Vittoria”–The best damn wine movie out there.
I might be a sap. I might be a proud consumer of wine. But this movie blows me away every time I see it.
Set in post-Mussolini southern Italy and near total Nazi occupation, “The Secret of Santa Vittoria” is a heart felt film about the historical passion, blood, sweat, and tears mentality that goes into producing wine. Although quite lighthearted and fun, this endearing film of 1940’s rural Italian culture delivers a solid theatrical performance while staying true to the fundamental, gripping, and at times insane ways we connect ourselves to this fermented grape concoction. I implore all friends and colleagues to pick up a copy of this film (as you might never find this in a movie shop) or email me at Lloyd(at)AmericanWinery(dot)com and I will send you my copy, as long as you send it back. ;)
Buy it here and read and review it on the IMDB profile, 7.1 out of 10 stars! (7/1/08)

By the way I obtained this clip an online clip resource. I did not burn this myself, rather the site posts legal clips of movies to help sell them. http://www.truveo.com/Secret-of-Santa-Vittoria-The-Movie-Clip-Brains/id/605599841

Hey – we watched this last night! For the scenery alone this is a great movie to watch. Wait for the scene where they start moving the wine. The most amazing choreography involving wine I have ever sen!

One of my favorites and one of Anthony Quinn’s best. I could have sworn Sophia Loren was in it too but I just checked and she was not! In any case it was especially grand on the big screen. License it for projection on the side of the winery after sunset for a nice finish to a winery event!
