Another great reason to stock up on wine
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but…….. gas is over $4.00 per gallon. The summer of 2008 was supposed to be the summer of Erica’s Road Trip to California – but all my planning went awry when I fueled up my Audi A6 the other day for $80.00!
But this morning, I stumbled across this article in Britain’s Telegraph and decided that there just might be reason for that road trip after all!
Are you ready for this, folks? Prince Charles’s Aston Martin is powered by wine. According to the article, the bioethanol that powers Prince Charles’s 21st birthday present from the Queen comes from English wine. And we’re not talking defective or corked wine, either – we’re talking delicious wine that cannot be sold on the market due to production restrictions and therefore is redistributed for environment-friendly folks to fuel up their rigs.
This opens up a whole new world of travel opportunity for me. I’ve already dubbed my car the Oeno-mobile and sent some friends to Trader Joes to pick up 10 cases of Two Buck Chuck. I’ve replaced my gas can with a corkscrew and I’m thirsty for the open road!
Look out, Napa! The Oeno-mobile will be making a tour of wine country this summer!
